do you think I maybe could house a childrens python in the 20 gallon long. What is another boa that I might be able to house in a 20gallon long tank.

Thanks

Other than a moderately sized sand boa or rosy boa, not really anything. A Children's python would be okay for a short while, but I wouldn't house a large adult in a 20.

A 30GL is like the mininum for an adult children's python. It would be better to go ahead and get like a 55GL so you don't have to keep spending money once it outgrows it.

in a 20 long.
I would house a very young ball python....
actually I would house all the smaller species of snakes....but only while they are young.
I would not house a larger species or an adult.
OR
even better....a leopard gecko....no real need to transfer it when it gets big..

but that is just me...........and I am not an expert...

What are you looking to spend?
There are lots of smaller pythons and boas that would be ok in a tank that size.
Sand/rosy,rubber boas
Spotted,Stimsons,childrens pythons
Savu pythons, burrowing python, new world dwarf python (Loxocemus, it that is still their genus).

No it wasnt.. That thread is "what can I keep in a 20 gal long". It also asks about housing a boa or python in it. Same question, just worded different.....
Why do people post the same question two or more times? Cant they wait at least long enough for someone to come along and answer the first before reposting it on another thread?

1 sq foot of cage floor per linear foot of snake = minimal but exceptable caging for most boids. If you keep them this tight...Please make sure they get out and excercised often. If you haven't gotten to geometry in school yet, measure the width and the length of the cage and multiply then together for floor area. so 4Lx2W=8sq feet so you can house a boid up to 8 feet....allthough most people would give them a bit more room than that but that's why they call it a minimum right?

Anyway...Use this formula and do a little web browsing and search out species and find out potential growth. Consider snakes like greyband kingsnakes. They are beautiful and wonderful snakes and rarely get over 3 feet. gartersnakes? I don't like em but some people do. You can really get whatever you want as long as you can take care of it at it's adult size. Just keep in mind that if the snake outgrows the cage that you will need to get a larger one later but that isn't such a bad thing...new cage means old cage is empty now and you can get another snake
