Re: New enclosure I started tonight!!!
Radient Heat Panels are mounted on the inside of the enlcosure ceiling. They provide a better source of heating than a clamp lamp and create a natural temperature gradient from warm to cool. The other nice thing about them is you dont ever have to worry about burns!!! Which is a plus without a doubt.
Construction is on pause tonight. I will be calling for an estimate on glass tomorrow. Thats gonna be a shot in the wallet for sure. But its payday so I may just go on a reptile shopping spree!!!
Any suggestions on ventilation??
I am thinking a row of 3 circle vents near the bottom and 3 near the top. Whatcha think?

Call several places to find the cheapest one.
I paid about $45 per window for my Royal python cages.

Re: New enclosure I started tonight!!!
Is LEXAN or Plexi-glass cheaper than tempered glass? That might be an option.

Plexi is cheaper, but it doesn't look nice.

Re: New enclosure I started tonight!!!
I find plexi to be about the same price as glass here. Tempered will cost a fortune, and will explode if it breaks, not to mention, it would be really difficult to cut.
your best bet is straight up glass

Re: New enclosure I started tonight!!!
I agree with Owen, I used straight glass on my bp's cages. 5/16 inch thick each. Custom cut to fit each cage.

Re: New enclosure I started tonight!!!
You can get glass edges rounded, ummm have you seen a glass coffee table or something like that? They just round off the edges. My friend works for a glass company so i need to get in touch with him.
