question
ok i dont know if this is the right section for this. if not feel free to move it.
my question is do they make any kind of spray or soaps or anything to clean snakes? i usually just let mine soak in warm water for baths, but the new ball i just took in really stinks b/c the cage he was in was really really gross. so do you think just a good warm soak would do him good? or is there something i can buy to help clean him up?

Re: question
Several people use shampoo, bubble bath, etc with no adverse effects. Their skin is not sensitive or permeable to them, so I would just use a mild soap.

Re: question
On the rare occasion that I felt it was needed (such as the time my Borneo Short Tail pooped about a gallon worth of urates and various fluids on my lap while in a pillowcase during a hurricane evacuation) I used baby shampoo with no problems. Just make sure they don't drink any of the water...not sure how ingesting soapy water would affect their systems.

Re: question
Occasionally we used a rag with a touch of dial soap (one of the most mild soaps you can buy) with no artificial fragrants or dyes then a warm bath to rinse off.

Re: question
Yeah, I agree with Raze, mild Dial brand soap is an excellent choice. I'm also sure that the next time he sheds most of the smell will be gone, too.

Re: question
there scales are made of keratin and stuff dont penetrate them. they even have it over thier eyes if what i have read is correct. i have gave chance and little max watermelon bubble baths. i still threaten little max to this day with another watermelon bubble bath if he isn't good.
it was so funny i was soaping him up and he was saying 'hiss hiss' and bubbles were floating off the top of his head. i wanted to pretend i was scared but i feel over on the floor laughing at him.
i also let him play on the floor while i took my baths and i always take bubble baths and he has dove in more then once and came up with bubbles on his head. at that point i jump out of the tub and he gets my bubble bath. then when he is done i just run more water and i get back in and threaten him with death if he gets in again.
the time i didn't let him in the tub...i kept pushing him away...he thought of a way to get his away. i let him have the bath again after he got in this way.
