I would have put this in the trading post section, but since I'm giving it away (and because all you tank builders may pick up some ideas from my design) I'll place it here.
Measures 73.5" W x 32" x 54.5" H. I designed and built it to be a "no-compromise" tank for one or more boas to have complete freedom. The wood is maple veneered 3/4" ply with a really tough UV cured finish. All visible edges are edge-banded in the same maple. Sliding 1/4" glass doors with lock, on aluminum track. horse bucket which clips to the wall. Metro industrial kitchen shelf to climb on. The back incorporates another smaller pair of sliding glass doors with vinyl-coated "lobster wire" screen on the inside -- by sliding the glass doors open or closed on the back you adjust how much venting there is. The top has 3 ceramic incandescent fixtures, all wired separately, plus a 48" flourescent fixture. All lighting and heat bulbs are attached to a hinged top, completely screened from the living area. Smooth aluminum around the perimeter of the screen alleviates the risk of reptile nose-rubbing injuries. Aquarium calked ... and the whole thing is on casters. If IKEA made a nice snake tank, this is what it would look like.
My snake passed away, and I'm moving to a smaller place. I live in central New Jersey (Ocean Grove.) If you are interested immediately, and have a van come pick it up, CALL me at (THIS TANK HAS JUST BEEN ADOPTED BY JIM AT HERPKINGDOM.COM FOR BURMESE RESCUES.) Please don't call looking for plans.

Man, this is the one time I wish I lived up there with all that snow...LOL. I would love to have it, but way to far away. Anyone want to deliver it? J/K

I know that herpkingdom could probably use the cage, and it's a nice one too!
Sorry for your snakes demise, but are you considering getting another one anytime soon?

I will get another eventually, but when I do he'll be a much smaller (apartment-sized) snake.

Several people in your area do rescues, herpkingdom, Lori_SnakesRule are two off the top of my head, so ya may be able to adopt one and help a homeless snake and get a great pet all in one from one of them.

That tank is absolutely AWESOME!!! If you built it, you are the most patient person ever, I would have smashed it when I messed up for the 100th time Nice tank, sorry to here about your snake, I am sure he/she was great to get such an enclosure.

This cage is going to be in quarintine for at least a couple of weeks. Apparently his snake died of a parasitic infection when he was exposed to another snake that was infected. I plan on disinfecting this cage and letting it sit for a couple of weeks just to be sure.
But the other cage I am getting is ready to go for any iggys that come down the line. But if needed I guess I could lay this cage on its side to handle any large snake rescues.
Almost in full gear for rescues. Just wish I had a reliable car!
Here's an idea..... I was talking to the auto dealer down the corner about a 87 hurse he has for $888 and if I could put it on layaway Can you imaging rolling up to someone's hopme to get a rescue in a 1987 Cadillas Hurst? Cool Huh? Big snake and lixards painted down the side, flashing light on the roof, siren blaring! and a tag that says "Repto 1" Jus tlike the Ghostbusters!
Hey Lori, he has two if you are interested!

OK, i picked this enclosure up on Sunday (before the games )
And i have to admit that you really cannot tell how HUGE this thing is by the pics here. I was in a full size cargo van and it took up just about the entire floor space. I will be taking picks this weekend and putting a 55 gallon tank on top of it so you can gauge the size of it. You could probably fit 6 of the 55 gallon tanks inside this cage. I will also be taking exact building measurements for the few who have requested them .
I would like to thank Jason again for donating the cage to help out in my rescue efforts.
Jason thought of just about everything with this cage. No expense was spared in the construction. By looking at the cage, you can tell he loved his boa!
