Where can I get a temp gun???
Without having to go online. I've tried Home Depot, a car parts store, I don't know where else to look. I looked on bigappleherps.com or whatever the url is but it's like $40, plus shipping, plus time. I was hoping to just pick one up somewhere...

We have a Petco, but in all the times I've been in there, I've not seen one. Perhaps I'll call the other local pet stores, just in case.

I've tried the autoparts stores near me and they don't have any. Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, Napa, none had them or had any clue what I was talking about. Well except for one guy who suggested a hobby store.
I've also tried Radioshack a couple years ago and they didn't know what I was talking about either.

Actually, I got it at Consumer Auto Parts cuz I happened to see them behind the counter. They had a 70 dollar one and a 27 dollar one. I got the cheaper and it works well, but you gotta get close.
I was going to get one at radioshack though.

Almost all of those places have online stores that will tell you if your local place has it in stock. I know that Advance auto will let you buy online and pick up instore the next day if not available so you don't have to pay shipping.

SO just did a search on Advanced Auto, Auto Zone and Napa's websites and couldn't find anything about temperature guns. I tried temperature, temp gun, infrared, infrared temp gun, and no hits for a temp gun. I must be missing something here...
When I went in to these places a few months ago and asked if they had temperature guns and then described them I got blank stares. Except for one guy at Advanced Auto who knew what I was talking about and suggested I look at a hobby store. Maybe because I'm in FL they don't need temp guns at auto stores because you just assume the temp is going to be hot...

Sounds like you are dealing with some uneducated people, I would buy online since none of the stores seem to help. We bought ours online.
