Help Snake Rack Plans

I was wondering if anyone has any plans to build a melamine rack system to use with 41 qt containers? I have looked at different websites and some of the costs are ridiculous. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Snake Rack Plans

Here is a small rack I made with a wire shelving system. I used the Sterilite 15 qt. tub # 1754 for baby boas and the Sterilite 74 qt. tub # 1969 for sub adults and boas about 6 feet long and less than 12 to 15 lbs. The 1754 tub measures 17 inches x 11 inches x 6 - 3/8 inches and the 1969 tub measures 44 inches x 19 - 3/4 inches x 6 - 3/8 inches. You can fit 8 of the 1969 tubs or 36 of the 1754 tubs on this rack. Set up like this picture cost me about $350 with 4 inch X 44 inch flexwatt on each shelf.

Take care
Tom

Re: Snake Rack Plans

I have used boaphile racks and those of other plastic companies. The boaphile racks are fantastic. I have never had any problems with them.

I bought two wire shelving set's at Sam's Club as one set only has 6 shelves and I needed 9 for this set up. The wire shelving is 4 foot long X 18 inches wide and has casters on it. I bought the Sterilite tubs at Target as they are the only place that carried this size of tubs I needed to use. Both tubs are the same size in height. I cut 1/4 inch masonite to fit inside of the shelves edges. I attached the wire plug to each strip of flexwatt so I can unplug any shelve I need to when it is not being used. I use aluminum tape to mount the 4 inch X 44 inch flexwatt on each piece of masonite. I also zip tied a long power strip on the back of the shelving so I could plug in the flexwatt.

Take care
Tom
