Re: BRB in 29 gal?

while the size of a 29 g tank wouldnt be a problem, i wouldnt keep a brb in a glass tank b/c they require high humidity and while not impossible, would be very difficult to achieve in that tank. i recommend starting one of in a plastic tub. but thats all imho my friend.

Re: BRB in 29 gal?

covering part of the screen top is a start but definitely not enought to get the humidity high enough for a brb.

and as long as the uth is hooked up to a rheostat or thermostat, its fine.

Re: BRB in 29 gal?

Go to Walmart man. They have so many Sterilite tubs that are semi-see-through. They are cheaper, easier to clean, hold heat better, and are easier to move.

Re: BRB in 29 gal?

I had three snakes in rubbermaid tubs with heat-mats and it was fine. Technically, the UTH shouldn't get hot enough to melt plastic like that... but there's always that window of disaster when working with any electronic so your best bet would be to use a thermostat, as mentioned. I didn't, but I was probably just lucky.. the thermometers temp-reading was at 89 most of the time as it was.. and this was one of the small size Zoo-Meds for two of them, and one of the Medium sized Exo-Terra mats for another.

Re: BRB in 29 gal?

A 20 gallon long worked very well for mine. It has the same area dimensions but is not as tall. It will work.
