hide options with radiant heat
i was wondering what type of hide would be good for a warm side hide using a radiant heat panel.
i should be getting my panel in the mail soon and am thinking of perhaps making some sort of hide with a vented top and placing the temperature probe inside the hide.
does this sound like a good option?
my boa is a hide to hide type of girl and doesn't really just sit out much hence this approach.
i'm worried that if i stick the probe outside of the hide, the hide won't get warm enought inside, and if i don't vent it with the probe inside the outside of the hide and rest of the warm side might get too hot.
additional info:
my boa is about 3.5 ft long.
the panel is 100 watt from ap.
the cage is 4'x2'x15" from ap.
the thermostat is a double rig ranco from boaphile.
any thoughts, input, or personal experience is much appreciated.
thanks!

Re: hide options with radiant heat
Try a stacked hide so she can have multiple heats to choose from. Look up "retes stack" they were intended for snakes but most monitor keepers use them.

I just might do something like that later on. That's a good idea. My snakes are still small and too scared to thermoregulate properly. So when they start moving around I'll do that.
