Re: heating
LOL. I guess they don't make water beds the way they used to. The old water beds used to be a large wood frame with a vinal mattress filled with water. They would come with a large heat pad that went between the mattress and the wood.

Re: heating
I'm talking about using it to heat a large snake cage. Yes the heat pad is from the old style water bed

Re: heating
I think it might work but I'd check the temp settings independent of usage under an enclosure repeatedly before I actually installed it under one.
BTW the really old water beds, the first ones on the market, were just sold as the mattress alone in head shops. No heater, no frame you just bought the vinyl bag took it home and hooked up the water hose. Those things were soooooo cold.

Re: heating
o ok never mind the small cage thing, getting confused between threads...
anyhows, are you trying to heat up the water bowl? if so and u want to use it, plug it in and play with a thermometer (in the water) in a cage you don't use (if you have a spare), just mess around with it, can do no harm....experimentation is a wonderfull thing (well sometimes)

Re: heating
The cage I'd be using it on isn't quite finished yet, so I'll have it empty to experiment. I'll be using it for belly heat.
WOW John, I can't even imagine how cold those old beds must've been. Even the oned with the heat pads could be a pain to keep warm in the winter.
