Eco Earth?

I've been using douglas fir bark as a substrate and my roommate who has been keeping snakes for far longer than I have uses eco earth. He says that I should switch from the bark to the eco earth because it helps keep the humidity up. Does anyone here have any experience with eco earth? And if so would you recommend it?

Re: Eco Earth?

I used it for about a year and I mixed it in with aspen shavings. Not visually appealing but aided in humidity issues. Works very well.
