Humidity
I have seen a lot of things about increasing humidity in reptile cages but I have never seen anything about getting it down. How would be the best way to get humidity down from about 60 to 40.

Re: Humidity
I have a UTH, an overhead light, a small water bowl on the cooler side of the cage, and a screen top. The tank is a size 20L and I use aspen bedding.

Re: Humidity
wow, i wish i had that problem. I have a 36Lx12Wx16H with an overhead heat lamp and an open screen top. I cant keep mine above 30-40% without misting daily, and it need to be 60%+.
is the UTH under the water supply? how deep is the substrate? I know that right after i replace the substrate it will hold humidity for a few days without problem, but then falls once it starts to dry out some. also the deeper the substrate, the more humidity it will hold.
one other idea, are you sure your humidity gauge is working correctly? I had one crap out on me before but I didnt realize it at first, I just thought I had BIG humidity problems. (it always read super low)

Re: Humidity
The substrate is few inches deep because I have a snake that likes to burrow. My humidity gauge may be reading high but only by a few percent. I had the tank outside a few days ago while I was cleaning it and the gauge was reading almost 80% and the weather forecast says 73% so the gauge could be off by about 5%. As I said earlier the UTH is on the cool side of the cage. The humidity in the room is least 60%

Re: Humidity
Well there is your problem. You need to lower the room humidity with a dehumidifier.
