i am having the hardest time finding sliding glass tracks for the cage i am building. if anyone has any ideas where i could come across them, please let me know! my main question is this though... has anyone had any problems using the plastic tracks? for some reason, i'm leary of them being sturdy. i found a set of sweet aluminum ball bearing tracks online, but don't feel like paying $50 when plastic ones would cost me less than $20, PROVIDED i'm not compromising security. anybody know where you can get plain aluminum tracks?

The only problem I have had with tracks is that desert dwelling lizards tend to kick sand into the track. Makes a loud noise and is almost impossible to get all of it out. Beardies were the worst.

Hmmm..
Home Depot and Lowes carry the aluminum track but it isn't too cheap....
And you can check with Tom about the track in this THREAD.

I used a product called a 'C Channel' that I bought from Home Depot. It is an aluminum U shaped material, sold in 8-foot lengths. In the middle, there is a small ridge (about 1mm) that keeps the glass/plexi apart from the other sheet during sliding. It is not as fancy as a sliding track, nor is it as expensive. It is easy to work with, and functions very well. Good luck finding what you are looking for...

Tried any automobile glass places? Last time I checked, several of them carried the plastic tracks.

www.doitbest.com has plastic sliding tracks...I used them on my boa cage. Seems to work well, no problems.
Door Tracks
See if there's a store in your area using the store locator. The one near me didn't have the tracks in stock, but I brought in the printout of the item, and they ordered it for me. Came in less than a week.
They also sell locks that work on the sliding doors...

thanks guys! i finally found a home depot that carries the plastic tracks. i'm still a little uneasy about the plastic, but i figure they can't be bad if so many people are using them!
