I have a cornsnake and I just bought a heating lamp and already have a heating pad. When i have the heating pad on alone, the cage temps are around 81 degrees. When i have both the lamp and pad on, the temps reach around 88 or 89. Would it be better to keep both on or just the heating pad alone? Should i have both on during the day and just the pad on at night????

Experiment with the two devices and see what works best. On a better note, get a thermostat and connect the two devices to it and it will maintain the gradient you set it to.
