180 gal tank?
Whats the dimesions on a 180 gallon tank? I think its 8x2x2 which is perfect for a boa. Once i get my boa Ralph in good shape i will be moving him into one for his enclosure. Any suggestions on how to heat such a big tank? I was thinking i will just use two heat lights. One for daylight and one for night heat.

With a 180 gallon tank you are going to have fun keeping humidity. You might want to get a boaphile or a vision cage.

I'm pretty sure it's 6x2x2.

The outside measurements are 73" x 25" x 26" (length x width x depth). Depending on the size of the room containing the aquarium it may be better to increase the room temperature several degrees and then add lights or other heating source for the enclosure's hot side.

I decided i will have two lights. It wil be trial and error on the wattage but i will have a regular house bulb (100 wat?) at one end of the tank and then in the middle i will have a red night bulb. Humdity isnt all that tough with aspen or reptibark or mulch humidity stays high. If need be i will place a small heating pad for the water bowl. Im going to be building a plexiglass top for it so it will be covered for the most part. $50 for a 180 gallon tank is well worth it in my eyes.

Yep, that bargain would be hard to pass up, though I'd probably go with undertank heaters and only use lights as a last option (ceramic heat emitters work well and you don't have to worry about light color or about bulbs blowing out regularly). Overhead lights (and CHEs) dry out the air very badly, which is why people tend to have problems with humidity, though you're on the right track with the plexiglass cover. Hope it works well for you!

Why put the red light in the middle? They still need to be able to thermoregulate at night. I would keep all heat sources on the same side.

with the large tanks you have to factor in the height of the tank. The biggest problem I had when I tried keeping my big boa in a 150gal tank, aside from the problem that it weighed as much as a small jeep lol was it was very tall, keeping a good graident in a tall setup is near impossible.
