Aspen Bedding

I have finally started switching over to aspen in several of my snake enclosures after years of using carefresh(in most cages) and cypress(in a few).I have done 4 out of 13 so far tonight and will do the rest tomorrow.
I am telling you,they seem to love it!
I have used carefresh bedding for so long on most of them that i had forgotten how easy aspen is(I used to use it)!I never really had a problem with temps or humidity while I used carefresh,I knew how to make it work...but,man,the aspen has already made life easier.Humidity is perfect and temps are great with very little effort.
My BP's are cruisin' around,happy as can be...my BURM...oh my is he a happy little bugger lol and he is using his new hide for the first time also!Yea!(I gave it to him last week because he outgrew his old one...he did not like the new one)
I am so excited that they seem happier I wish I could have gotten pics while they were exploring and "playing around"....

I know my burm looks teeny(I had to back the zoom all the way out to get his enclosure) but he will be 4 months old Dec. 5th and is just over 3 feet...growing like a weed and as adorable as can be *proud snake mommy* hehe

Glad you're liking it so far. The snakes I keep on it love it for burrowing; sometimes it's a shame because they're so comfy under it they don't show up on the surface enough!

Err.. and have fun switching out the rest of the cages; I just did the same thing going from aspen to mulch in many of mine and boy, was it fun!

LOL It was a ton 'o' fun just in the 4 I did because i am scrubbing them down good while i have them empty ....it is worth it though.
Tomorrow will be a BLAST I am sure hahaha.....
I just realized I had 3 pics of Kane posted ....ummmm I hope the rest of my snakes are nearsighted so they won't be able to see the screen j/k lol!(my computer is in my reptile room so I can keep an eye on everyone when i am online )I don't want them to think i have a favorite...or that I love him more...I love them ALL!!!

Glad you like it. I've been using it from day one, and I've really liked it, too. The snakes seem to be pretty comfortable on it. Anyway, congrats, and have fun!

Heh - I went the opposite way - I used to use aspen and now use carefresh for smaller cages... but because my hog island male somehow got a splinter of aspen stuck in the skin near his nose and it swelled (vet visit to have all the pus removed, good thing is that it didn't get infected). I still don't know how he did that but that little splinter made me change over.
