Aquarium Sealer
My red eared sliders 40 gallon aquarium sprang a leak. I cant find any aquarium sealer at the local pet store. Does any one know of a product that can be used that is safe for the turtle that might be sold at home depot or lowes.I don’t need much he just needs to go back in his enclosure, Because of this he had to be set up in a 20 gallon rubber made.

100% silicone will work, it just takes a week to totally dry and cure and be safe to use.
It can be found at just about any hardware/home improvement store, and is relatively inexpensive.

What kind of a 40 gallon tank is this? Is it one of those 40 gallon breeder tanks that are 36"x18"x17"?? I know they make those with a square hole on one end for a filter to be used with turtles.... but the other ones that come with a screen lid that slides aren't made for water....... and there are also All-Glass brand that size as well that is made for fish... so I'm just wondering.
If not then it must have just sprang an accidental leak.

It was a fish tank that had been used for a bearded dragon for 2 years that all most all of the seal had been dug out of one corner were the leak started.

DOH! I've had THAT happen!! Try to get a large plastic sterlite tub for temporary housing. You can still hook up your filter to it, you just need to be inventive.
That way you can properly reseal the entire tank. Lowe's and Home Depots carry the sealant. Look for it in their glue section
