Cypress substrate for young'uns?
I went ahead and switched over both the older snakes so I thought about switching Selene over after she sheds too and just putting them all on cypress. Casey is not enjoying it so far like Wilbur but I'm hoping she gets used to it. She just goes around smelling it and flicking it with her tongue. Would it be okay to put Selene on? She is almost 7 months old (wow, I can't believe it) and I need to measure her again for a good measurement but I'd say between 2.25-2.5 ft.

I'm wondering now if the girl will ever shed. She dissappeared after her last feeding and has been hiding since then so I didn't feed her last week and have been checking on her every few days under her hide. She went opaque as far as I can tell a few days ago. It's been about two weeks since I've seen her out and about. I miss her. She sure is taking her sweet little time.

I use paper towels for my little ones. Once they graduate to my larger tubs then I give them cypress (generally when they are 24").

Thanks. Yes, she is definitely over 24" now. I think I'll give it a try.

Isn't it annoying when they take their time shedding? Heh heh... but the outcome is always so pretty!

Urgh!!! You wouldn't believe how irritated I am right now and ready to go buy a dozen more snakes. I'm giving Wil his time to just relax and starting his break-in period all over again, Selene BETTER shed today and Casey just went blue. THREE SNAKES and I can't play with any of them.
