question about heating
I just bought a display case to use as a cage. The dimensions are 5ft wide 4 ft high and 2ft deep. what is the best way to heat such a large enclosure? Any answers would be greatle appreciated. Thanks

what are you using it for?
can you post pics of it?
I think I would probalby use a CHE on a thermostat or dimmer.

yea, i guess slithers is right. A CHE would be very good, plus an under tank heater for the hot spot

I would think that if the CHE (w/ thermostat) is powerful enough, no UTH would be needed. But I'm going off my expierence

But the tank is quite large, don't you think? thats why i said CHE(on top, in the middle) + UTH (hot spot)

if you are going to use a UTH like heat tape underneath some fake tiles or something...make sure you silicone the sides so your UTH doesnt get wet.

With all that cage height, and the whole "heat rises" thing, you're going to have a heck of a time having a usable floor temp, without a very hot ceiling temp., etc.
