building a custom cage

I want to build my almost 6 foot RTB a custom cage soon, So I need to know how to go about it. I wanted to know what you think would be the best design, materials, And how much would you think all this would be when im done?

Can't help you much on the design. Take a look around in the archives there are a lot of great designs. As far as cost....I built a 8'x2'x3' cage for my BCI. I used 1/2" plywood. If you use the plywood ensure that the wood is sealed well!!!!! Also ensure that you let it air out long before your snakie goes into the cage.

ShadowHunter...not much help as I've only built a stand out of 2x4's for my 55 gallon, but if you have any used furniture stores in the area, you might pick up a great deal. I did, and got a used jewelry store display cabinet cheap for what it is.

4'x22''x37'', mirrored ends with 4' enclosed florescent light and a shelf unit built in. I picked up a 2'x14'' shelf, heating pad, temp/humidity gauge, 2'x20'' basket, plastic plants, driftwood and water dish at yard sales and have about $12 total in everything inside the cage.

If you happen to live anywhere near Eastern Iowa, I just happen to know where the other one is for sale. This one is 5' long though, so bring a truck. Cost?.....$50 too much???
