I was thinking about using the 11"x18" size on a 36" neo.
Anyone use them? Do they get real hot? Bean Farm says they only get about 15 degrees above room temp and I won't need a thermostat. Is this true? Would they work as a heat source to keep the temp up a little at night?
Anyone who has one or knows about them, please reply.
Thanks.

I've used them sometimes without a thermostat. They don't get that hot at all, but a thermostat/rheostat is never a bad idea just to give yourself some level of control over the amount of heat. I've not ever had a meltdown with one of those like I have with Zoomed heat pads and other brands... but I still think some way of regulating the heat is probably a very good idea.

Ok.. this I know is definately NOT a post that belongs in the RTb section at all. In fact if I had to take a wild guess..I would have to say that it is really referencing CAGING / HOUSING of a reptile.. BUT who knows...
ALSO THIS IS THE SECOND POST OF YOURS THAT I HAVE HAD TO MOVE FROM AN INCORRECT FORUM IN JUST THE LAST 3 MINUTES TIME I BELEIVE ALSO PLEASE!!! Take note of where/what forum it is that YOU are placing/making your post in. We did place a short reference to ID the forum you enter which describes what the forum is for also BTW...That should help...
UMmmm.. Are you the same person who keeps repeatedly placing posts in forums that have absolutely NO binding relationship to where you place them at all ? Thus making more work for me [ now if I could just get other admins to "move" incorrectly placed forums it would lighten this up even from my end ] in having to serve an eviction notice, pack the posts baggage up and then send em on the "fly" to the correct forum.. Of course not until after I place a note such as this one on the thread also. REALLy, HONESTLY... There is NO need to try and make sure that I have enough work to do here on RTb at all. I find plenty to do and a bit of time by NOT having to do things like this with postings would give me even more time to post around the forums or do other admin stuff as well. Thanx though for making sure that there is always plenty to do here
Soo were you the one that placed the tree boa/python post in the wrong area that I recently left a note like this one on also ?
moving this post...

I would take Rav's advice. It's never a bad idea to have some sort of heat controlling device.

Well, I got it. Even at full power, these do not get too hot. You can put your hand on it without a problem. I attached it to the back of the neo with some foil tape and without using a thermostat, I get a nice ambient temp of 82 at night. Seems to work good.
