Is there a way to "unstick" a UTH that's easy and doesn't destroy it in the process...I don't think there is but I just wanted to check before I go out and buy another for my new tank...

If its one of the smooth flat ones, then forget about it...
If it's one of the bubbly pouch type, then it can be removed, but you'll have a heck of a time resticking it to anything again....
Just invest in new and save the older tank for future herps.

you'r having trouble unsticking them!?!? I have trouble getting them to stick! if you don't want to leave the heater on the tank, and can't get it to restick to the new one you can try to rig the tank up to you can put strings up underneath the heater so it will sit on top of the strings, under the tank. just make sure you use strings that won't melt. -Juggalo

Hmmm. I've unstuck and restuck my UTH twice now and haven't had a problem either way. Of course, each time I unstuck it, I had just turned it off. Maybe the heat helped it to be less sticky for removal.

Use a sraight razor blade to cut along the glass while gently pulling up on the heat pad. (Be careful not to cut the pad) Then you can restick it with 2 way tape or a little super glue. I have used this method many time and it has always worked out great. Hope this helps.

UMmmm.. Are you the same person who keeps repeatedly placing posts in forums that have absolutely NO binding relationship to where you place them at all ? Thus making more work for me [ now if I could just get other admins to "move" incorrectly placed forums it would lighten this up even from my end ] in having to serve an eviction notice, pack the posts baggage up and then send em on the "fly" to the correct forum.. Of course not until after I place a note such as this one on the thread also. REALLy, HONESTLY... There is NO need to try and make sure that I have enough work to do here on RTb at all. I find plenty to do and a bit of time by NOT having to do things like this with postings would give me even more time to post around the forums or do other admin stuff as well. Thanx though for making sure that there is always plenty to do here
Soo were you the one that placed the tree boa/python post in the wrong area that I recently left a note like this one on also ?
moving to the caginf / housing forum.. doesn't belong in the RTB faq one...

Hehe, Ya forgot ta move it!!!
It's there now.
Bu tI agree, I do a LOT of moves also, from one to another forum..
Seems some days that all I do is move posts..
If I have way too many, then I say nothing, but when out of hand by one or two peeps, then I open my trap and spill my thoughts a lil bit.

I have nothing to say about the misposting areas though i would definately give you a garenteed way to remove an uth.
Up close hairdryer. It works wonders when i want to remove frisket or any other tape while i airbrush and is the same with the undertank heater. I hope i don't get strung by my skin for posting after the two admin messages now.

Nah, you can post behuind or in front of anyone ya want!
Unless ya don't want to! Or the topic is locked, which happens from time to time as needed.
Anyways, whenever info is posted it gives EVERYONE a chance to learn more.
