As some of you know (those in chat early this morning) one of my coastal carpet pythons litterally got stuck on a piece of vinyl tile last night. the cage I built for him is lined all on the inside by 1ft squares of vinyl tile. apparently one of the tiles came half way off, and being a curious snake, he stuck his head behind it, and got it stuck, REALLY STUCK.
Any way, I finnally got him off (no puns intended). there is some Very minor damage to some scales (next shed will take care of it) and he's fine now. it was very scary, and I was very disoriented, and confused, having being woken up by the snake at like 1or 2am. thanks to all who were there last night during my incohearent, disorganized ranting in chat .
The moral of the story is: vinyl tile is great, but the adhesive that is on the back is not strong enough to hold it vertically. use a staple gun (that's what I did) or a non-toxic adhesive. -Juggalo
