well i got to page 18 or so here and got tired of reading lol but in reference to
http://redtailboa.net/forums/t13710-sterilite-rack.html
these are for my leo's, i have 1 in a 58qt, but floor measurements are no bigger than the 28 qt's lol. i plan on using these for the males and the females that i cannot handle or that are breeding, and using just regular aquariums for the ones that will be handled all the time for pets. or i can build another version later that will hold 58qt's for them as well as that's about the size of a 20g aquarium, i will eventually be doing them for the 90 qt sterilite's for like my BP and RTB , this is all until i can figure out how to build the shower board ones of course :P.
VERSION 1: i was interested in making something similar as in only holding 2x 28qts(sideways) per shelf or 4 of the 12qt's, i know the best for the 12's are all along the back 1 long strip so they can all be heated the same, but my main question is about the 28's. with them set up that way, how would you heat them both? 1, 11" in the middle? or running like a 3-4" piece along the back as well and that way one (long) side is a hot side, rather than one of the ends?
VERSION 2: i guess i could also do it 1/2 so only 1x 28qt will fit on each shelf and just run the flex along the right or left ends, and not put any of the small ones, on each shelf, what size flex should i use in this setup? i think 11" would be too big but then again i think 4" would be too small, and then i could use the same design, and just build a seperate rack for the smaller ones (for juvies and hatchlings of the leo's). then i know i can use it like they have the small ones in there, and just heat the far back of the shelves so they're all resting on the heat tape.
