Ya, I have looked into the helix ones and a few others... has anyone who has any proportional's had any problems with any of them?
Just want to make sure I get a good one when I do feel like spending the cash on it.

I just built my self a dimmer (depending on the day, it was under 7 bucks) I think it as just about as good as a stat, once you find your range, set it and your good to go. Im sure people will dissagree but it works for me lol.

yup I have a few of thos for my lights but was just thinking of going with thermostat just to make it more easy with the seasons being so different here in MI. and I dont really trust thos $18 ZooMed ones anymore either... I just found out the other day that it was running my flex-watt on full blast. I might just use a normal house-hold dimmer for that as well but still think a prop-thermostat would be nice.

I swear by the helix dbs1000. As for the dimmers they work the only problem is if anything raises your ambient room temp or the temp of the cage the heat inside the cage will rise possibaly makeing it to hot harming your little buddy. I have not had any bad experience with dimmers though just keep an eye on the thermometer

Helix by FAR ... They are the only ones that we trust with our breeding racks.
P.S. We are running a HUGE special on them right now - $123.99!!! ( www.jkreptile.com)
