Heating question

I couldnt find an answer to this so hopefully I didnt over look it. I may be getting a BP soon and plan to put it into a 58q Sterilite, Ive read numerous posts abut how people heat these things and was wondering, can the only heat source be an UTH? Say a human heating pad? I was planning on running a small UTH ( meant for hermit crabs) and a bulb for heat but bouncing ideas around right now. Any advice would be helpfull. Thanks

personally i tried doing that with no success. i had a small rubbermaid that wasnt tall at all, 6'' if that, im pretty sure less. it didnt work, i had to keep a heat lamp on it, with a hole cut for screening obviously. this is just my experiance, i hear of alot of people doing this. i think your room temps play a big role in it as well

WeissChoice will become famous soon enough
I think you can use almost anything you want as long as the heat gets through to the snake and doesn't melt the plastic. Make sure you use some kind of temp. controller, whether it be a rheostat/dimmer, or thermostat and you are golden~! I know a few people who have used human heat pads and they said it worked great. I personally use UTH because I find I can control my humidity better depending on where I place the snakes water bowl. I hope this helps and good luck

Mike
