I drilled a small hole just big enough to fit the probe through the back side into. I did this in my middle cage since I figured it would be beteer for me since I have the 2 422d's and I just bought a 421d a month ago to use as a stand and storage for my extra supplies ie:spray bottle, substrate and little pooper sccoper thing to help scoop up the snake poo.

I use duct tape to keep the probe in place since my Boa likes to move it. I learned that trick myself.

thats not a good idea. i had a friend who had duct tape in the enclosure and the snakie got itself stuck to it. it ripped a bunch of scales off. i would have to say, its fine as long as the heat tape heats the floor evenly

The problem with that then is that my girl moves the temp probe around above the substrate which is about an inch deep. So if she moves it then the heatpad used to go to 95 and up. I realized this after about a week of having this set-up.
