Hey guys, just me being a worry wort again. I was planning on just buying a really nice big tank for lucifer instead of having like five different ones as he grew, would there be a problem with having a relatively small snake in a relatively big enclosure? i just figure he'd be happier is all.

I don't think you could have a cage too big...I mean in the wild...they have the whole world, at least as far as they know, and that's the natural way. However I think it would be wise to at least put a hide here and there. For sure one on the warm side and one on the cool side, that way he can feel secure while regulating his temp.

Thanx for the post, i know to put in a hide on both sides of the cage, and two water bowls, one on the cool side, for drinking, and one big enough for him to take a bath in on the warm side

Having small snakes in big enclosures can build stress on them. As long as you have plenty of hides around it should be fine.

Toss in some bushy silk plants, too. If he has something to hide in as he goes from one side to another, it will help with his security. Just be sure to clean them before putting them in the enclosure

Yeah, it can be too big for a snake....
The trick is to do like X and LDragon said, make it crowded and small feeling in there with mutiple hides and plants.
Then it should have a better feeling of secureness since it will be able to hide from place to place like it would do in the wild at its size/age.
