She just got through with not one, but 2 10+lb rabbits and is STILL in feeding mode. And the 20 or more pounds of meat have only slowed her down slightly. Not near enough for me to get her riled up again. She was pushing on the glass so hard a little while ago that I thought she was going to break it. For such a sweetheart she has the feeding response of a great white shark and it will be at least tomorrow morning before I even dare open her cage or go near it for that matter. Kramer on the other hand will allow me to rub his head or move him around while he is eating, but that is from many years of conditioning. On the other hand, he is a butthead for most of the time in between feedings and lurches and thrashes his tail around whenever someone tries to pick him up. He does finally give in and relax though.
Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack this cage post.
See what you made me do Louise!

You are going to have to point out that bowing effect because I couldn't see any signs of it. I wonder why more Vision owners have not spoken on these cages? I know thousands of them are out there! I'd like to hear more from Vision owners.

I've had a few, and I concur with Dbutton. I really think some of the feedback you get on them online is a little skewed (like lots of people who have never had them talking about how crap they are vs how great one of the cheaper ones are). The door thing is definitely a huge plus for me, and partially justifies the slightly higher price tag. The bottoms not being flat are sort of pain to clean, but also allow some wiggle room between cages if you need to put lights in. This is especially nice if you ever want to put something besides snakes in them. And as noted above, its a one piece molded construction. Me personally, if I'm paying over $200 for a cage, I might as well pay a little more to get a much sturdier, better finished product. I certainly felt like I got my money's worth on them.

OK, after chatting with Jeff last night I've decided to give Boaphile a try!!
I'll be ordering one 421 cage (not sure which yet) at this time. Once it arrives and I evaluate it I can do two things. 1) Order the rest because I am 100% satisfied with it from all aspects or 2) I can place it back in the same box and ship it right back for a full refund of the cage money and shipping cost both ways!
Now the only question I have is one or two doors.
421D cage set
Or 421 Coupe cage set, the coupe is the one with 2 doors and no divider.
Cost for the 421D is $1,029, the cost for the 421 Coupe set is $1,124. Difference is $95.00.
I think the one door is easier to clean and gain access too, the two door seems tight, but is safer during feeding time.
I'm also thinking whether or not to get the pedestals, I could easily build one out of Melamine that would be two levels high to stack the cages on top for less than $50.00 compared to the $84.00 the pedestals cost with the stack set. The plus to building my own would be I could store 8 11qt sterilite tubs under there or 4 24qt tubs. Those pedestals give the stack a finished look, but it seems like wasted space. Still undecided.
What can Boaphile owners tell me about the one and two door styles, which is preferred?

I much prefer the 421D. The coupe looks nice, but you'll HATE trying to get your snakes out of the cage or cleaning any of them that aren't at head level. The D doesn't have the center "support" that the coupe has, but is much more user friendly if you don't plan on using the dividers.

I agree, I like the 421D with one door, and I also agree with pathfinder's comment about not stacking them up too high (unless you are tall!) I have a stack of 4, I would go up to 5 but that's it and without a pedastal, my bottom cage sits right on the ground.
I also agree with other people's comments about the hurahs for boaphiles whenever a cage question is brought up, but I just have never used Visions so can't compare the two.

I wouldn't like placing a cage on the floor, it must be a pain getting down their to clean. I have some cages now that are 6" from the ground and I hate getting on my knees everytime I have to clean up.

I too would do the one door cage. Even though I don't have boaphile cages I do have 4 footers with one door openings and two door openings and as I stated before, it is a real pain with 2 doors. I don't think you will have any feeding problems unless you have some violent snakes. I do think that they look nice. That is one thing I do like about the boaphiles, their looks.

Nice... I've got a couple from them... I've had some trouble with them holding too much humidity though just FYI. Over all though they're pretty good cages, and yes their customer service is very good

Cost was about $2400 for the Boaphiles.
I'm using Kraft Indented Paper (Same as Disposable Cage Liner) excect it's $19.00 a roll of 360ft from Uline and other shipping suppliers compared to $35.00 for a 300ft roll from the Reptile hobby suppliers.
Stuff works great and looks better than newspaper. Anytime the cage needs cleaning or they make a mess of any kind, just fold it up, ball it up, clean the cage with some Virosan, lay a new sheet...done!
