T-stat question...
I'm looking for a good thermostat for a custom cage. I'd prefer one that will automatically handle a night drop, and preferably one that doesn't look like crap. Or, if you have suggestions for a good way to set-up something else that will take care of temps automatically, I'd appreciate that too. Thanks

www.boaphileplastics.com has one of the most reliable thermostats available. No built in night drop, but reliability is key.
Actually, here's the direct link

Thanks, boss. I've looked at that one before and I kinda like it. How would I handle a night drop though? Currently I have a thermostat (dial kind) that I have to adjust each morning and night. Pain in the butt. I will admit I have forgotten a few times, and sometimes I'll jump out of bed to turn the thing down. So what's the best way to do a night drop with that t-stat?

Big Apple Herpetological has a really nice, reliable thermostat with a night time temperature drop, and it's a lot cheaper than similar thermostats I've seen. I have one of their ordinary thermostats (no temp drop) and it works very well for my rack.

I use Habistat Day/Night Pulse Props. The main temperature is set on the top with the normal knob type adjuster and the drop is set using the red knob on the bottom by the cable exits. Their is a photo of one in my Boa Vivarium album if you want to look. The time switch just kicks it in to nighttime drop when it turns the light off as its wired to the other pole of the switch.
Cheers
Nick
