Finally moving the snakes to their own seperate building
Well I finally decided to completly turn my shop into the snake house. It was either the shop or the garage and I didn't have the space in the shop for everything in the garage and there was no good way to cool the garage during summer. I already have a good window AC in the shop and I am going to intulate it before I move the snakes in so that it won't have to work so hard to keep it 80 when it is 100 degrees outside.
The building is 12ftX16ft which should give me plenty of space. It is really the 2 big burm cages that take up so much space. I could put 6 adult boas in the same space as the 2 burms and still have some left over. Oh well they aren't going anywhere so it doesn't really matter.
So these pictures are of the shop now. I have moved just about everything out and have the workbench to sort out and move left. So please don't mind all the clutter that you see.
I have a long ways to go and I am going to take pictures of each step of the way. I should have them in there in about 10 days or so. I am going to cover all the walls and the ceiling with 3/4" foam insulation board and I have to pix the doors and seal all the way around the bottom plates to keep out moisture and bugs. It will be nice when I am done though and I will have my own seperate building to climate control just the way I want. THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!

I am off to the store for insulation board to put on the inside walls and to get a new door since the old one has water damage and needs to be more secure. This is going to be great fun.

Hey David! Great idea!
Nexus is right, projects like that have a tendancy to grow and grow. What you imagine will take 10 days will really take 30. At least, that's the way it works for me. LOL
Good luck, and share photos! I can't wait to see the finished product.

Good job. But a 12x16? Maybe for quarentine Unfortunately, my yard is not conducive to an outbuilding (thank to a corner lot and city codes). But just for the hots, I designed a 12x20. Put in a bathroom, or at least a hole in the wall.
I just want to see the face of the first person that breaks to steal a lawnmower
