Help with building a cage
I need to get some ideas and cheap materials for building a snake cage to accomidate a large 6ft boa and his little 4 ft g/f. I'm not sure how to go about building this and how to make it all work. No one seems to have directions on how to build a decent snake cage this size.
I'd appreciate some advice.

It's pretty much like building a big box.
Click the "Search" option in the bar at the top of the forum menu and search "cage building" on this forum.... there are lots and lots of threads about cage building here on the forum.

Also, I don't mean to jump to conclusions, but are you planning on building them each their own cage, or putting them together in this new one you're building? If you plan on keeping them together I would advise against it.
Here is a recent thread on that topic, if you do a search on this site for "boas together" or "housing 2 boas together" etc.... you can find more.

2x4's are cheap but you can't build the whole cage out of those. Ply wood is a little costly. If I were you I would go to some type of Home depot or Lowes and just look around. I was lucky enough to get a custon built fish tank (from a friend) with the bottom knocked out and all I had to do was built a stand and get a plexiglass bottom. I would also advise aganist putting the 2 snakes togther. If you built a large enough cage you can put a divider in the middle, I've heard of ppl doing that a lot. And then just take the divider out if and when you plan to breed. Good luck!
