ok back to wood shavings in my tanks
since i;ve starting to come in this chat room,i;ve been nosey and was looking at breeders set ups,
i seen most of the breeders have news papper in there tanks,so i though i would give it a try(LOL) yeah i dont think i;ll be doing that again it took me an hour to clean the tank after my 8ft female had to do the doo
i had to get a scraper out of my tool bay to get the dirty news paper of the bottom of my tank,
how do you do it,you pay people to come in and clean your tanks for you(LOL) na im joking the thing i like about wood chips is it soaks up the mess for a hot minute so you can get the mess out of the tank, but yeah then theres lots of wood chips on the floor,so tell me whats the secret,

Aspen shavings or cypress mulch can be used without incident as a subtrate as long as you take the proper precautions. A big "no no" is feeding in the enclosure when shavings are present, as they can easily get lodged in your snake's mouth. If you have to feed in the enclosure, cover the bottom with something to preven the substrate from getting in the snakes mouth. I prefer not to feed in the enclosure, I feed my Burm in the tub, but the RTB will not eat in the tub, so I have to put something in over the shavings to protect her.

Did the snake go under the paper and then take a huge dump or on the paper. Most of the time mine take a dump right by the wall and it comes off easy with some water. I guess an 8 ft has a dump the size of a saint bernards and stinks as bad or worse.
