Rust-Oleum: Painter's Touch

I went to the pet store today and the guy there said that little tiny particles can get into the air and that can be toxic to the snake...Well i almost have my wooden cage ready for painting, i was planning to use rust oleum primer then white finish, but will it be toxic? it says it contains no lead on the label then the top of the can says "leads can be dangerous" or something. I hope its not toxic as long as it dries for a week...

It will be fine. I have used it for awhile now and it works great. Like I said paint the box then let it dry and air out. Once it drys use a small fan to circulate the fumes out then I use a antibactirial cleaner to wash it out. It drys smooth and hard. It hasnt chipped or flaked.

Hope you seal it good. The urine, and the humidity will ruin it. Didn't say Melamine was good, but painting wood like that is basically the same thing. Melamine has its place, its not awful. Just awful heavy.

well we did a quart of primer, then a quart of painters touch, we are going to do another quart of painter's touch sometime soon, then we will mount the plexiglass hatch, and the tank will pretty much be finished...pictures will be up soon.
