Hi guys

My father-in-law is a bit of a woodworking whiz and I wondered if anyone could supply me with plans for any good vivarium projects they have seen. The vivarium is to house an adult Redtail, at present my snake is still a juvenile and living in a 4ft x 3ft x 2ft viv. I know this may suit him even as an adult but I would like to see any other plans at least as big as this.

I also have an adult 5ft cornsake and maybe the unit could incorporate more then one viv so both snakes’ enclosures are together in the one unit. I don’t know what you can come up with but any help would be great (maybe with the corn on top the residual heat from the Boa viv below could help heat the Corn, just an idea).

If you supply plans any suggestions for heating the Boa and the corn in the new enclosure would be good.

I have the perfect chance to give my snakes a great home (as well as take up my father-in-law’s offer of help).

Let’s see what you have got guys.
Cheers
Colin

Might have been better to place this is caging or other forum. Anyways, as far as building new enclosures, it really lies into two categories: planning and creativity. The ideas and designs are countless. Here you can see the beginning of what is now in the final stages of being complete: http://wind.prohosting.com/~lsx2k/Picture%20014.jpg (have to copy and paste the link into browser). That is my enclosure I built for my royal, but now it is going to be used for my BCI I am getting from Lori. It is 4 x 2 x 2. Now, not only do you need to come up with a design, but also the material you wish to use. Since I used wood, I only had two options for heating it and they were either a CHE or heat paenl. Hope I gave you a little bit of help here.

I wasn't even aware there was a forum for vivs. I thought help for new owners would be okay. Sorry.

Hi you could try
http://www.lizardcages.com
Their enclosures look pretty good, I think you are supposed to pay for a list of parts you will need but the sizes and plans for the vivs are on the site. Your father in-law may be able to sort out you out with out needing the parts list Lots of pics may give you some ideas anyway!

Please don't post the same identical thing in more than one forum...
I deleted the other exact post ya just made and am now moving this one to the caging/housing forum topic...
Sorry, but with over 2000 members it is enough with all the other things we do to keep up without trying to chase down and move or delete and or copy paste from one thread to another........

We love Redtail too! So any time we get a day or three when we don't have to do such, then we get to enjoy the site and catch up on our learnings and teachings!

Yeah okay! I apologised not a lot more I could do once I had made the mistake. Thanks for putting my post into the correct forum (I was trying to do the right thing by posting a copy of it in there myself as it seemed too late to delete the offending post myself once someone had replied to it).

No problem at all!
Actually, there is something you can do if you catch it within just a few minutes.
Just look on the bottom of any of your posts and you will see a picture of a piece of paper on the left hand side.
It is the edit feature which lets you change your posts and lets you delete them if quick enough.
