Im new to this site but Im impressed .What a great site.Theres alot to be learned here .I have a 9ft female columbian red tail that is 9yrs old .She is a beautiful pet.She would make a great breeder based on her colors and temperment. She is salmoned coler on her sides with a pearl arodescent .I have never bred her due to my lack of knowledge.I have a quality inclosure but no male. One question is that I dont want to just breed here I want to breed her to a quality male .How old does the male need to be .Does anyone have a male for sale that is above standard color pattern and temperment.I know this wont happen until next year but I would really like to breed her. Please give me some pointers on how to prepare and purchase a above average male .I will post some pictures soon.again this is a great site .Im glad I found it.

Just be carefull when and if you do deside to breed her. Make sure she has a very good fat storage. When mmine bred she was 7.5' and about 15" around after she gave birth the shrunk to 9-10" around. She did not eat at all during her pregnancy. It took allot out of her. So far she's getting back to eating. Oh btw also be careful during the first feeding after she gives birth, mine was ready to hit anything that moved, and when I went to feed her I moved. She tagged me pretty good. Just F.Y.I. She sounds pretty almost like my female.

Search high and wide to find exactly what it is you are looking for in a male for her. Don't just buy one cuz it's an oppurtunity to get the male. It took me over a year to find a male for my Guyana.
