Help Gravid boa????

Hi I am new here and need some help asap pls.

I bought an adult pair of el salvador boas at the end of september . Up until we got them they were kept in the same viv.( I have seperated them). The thing is the female was really light in colour when we got her , now she is really dark even though she did shed about 1 week ago. She is always on the heat in her hide also so is becoming quite `moody` lol. Any help appricated. I am new to boas so probably just worrying over nothing .Thanks in advance x

Re: Gravid boa????

It's still very early in the breeding season for her to show signs of gestating babies. A number of the Central American boas go through a dramatic color change throughout the day.

Best to keep her heat steady and see if she starts to swell in the next few months. Pics would be nice! I don't think anyone on here has El Salvador's. Are they het blood?

Re: Gravid boa????

They should be kept separate unless you are trying to breed them anyway. Central American boas are much smaller and develop sexually at a later age than most South American boas.
