My female boa may be gravid. We stuck Mercutio in with her and he went right to work (so did she, she couldn't wait, she spurred HIM [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif[/img]). She has been in blue now for what seems to be an unusually long time...at least 5 days now. Morti tells me this is the post-ovulation shed. If she is gravid and she gives us babies, they should be nice. Here are pics of her and daddy:

It appears that she might not have been gravid afterall. This has been an abysmal breeding year for us. I can pin-point several things that could have caused it, but either way, it has not been good.

I hope that everything will work out better this coming fall. We have more snakes that are ready to breed and so hopefully the statistics will produce better results. We can only hope so anyway. [img]modules/Forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif[/img]

Thanks for requesting the update though. I just wish I had better news to report.

Zombie will hopefully be breeding Titania when her &quot;Window of Opertunity&quot; opens up (to borrow a Boaphile phrase). Hopefully this will happen sometime this fall. I have noticed that females tend to hit their pre-ov twist sometime around August or September here in my home. Hopefully everything will go better this year as I have no plans to move around then like I did last fall.
