does either sex carry a more dominant gene?
it seems like females have been slightly higher priced someone suggested maybe the females had more to do with the kind of young a pair would have???

Actually, I think the higher price is more due to the fact that females are in higher demand, because you can breed a male to several females. So a breeding group with more females is good, so more people are looking for females than for males.

Reptilemamma is correct. As you increase the number of females in a breeding project, the number of potential offspring increases exponentiallly.
