red tail boas, just out of curiosity... what would a surinam bcc x bci female and a albino bci produce? hets? or is that a bad breed anyway you look at it since the female is a cross?

people tend to not like crosses, but to answer your question, you would get Hets

Example: A boa that is het for albino looks normal but carries the albino gene. When it is bred to another het for albino boa or an albino boa, a percentage of the offspring will be albino.

I'm a locality purist as much as the next guy. But if there's a very colorful *insert morph here* that I find has mixed ancestry then that's fine with me. If you're into the albino/morph market you generally don't care about locality, just improving the morph. Case in point, Gulf Coast Reptiles in Ft. Myers has a stunning Suri x Colombian albino that is just to die for. They also have a Suri x Colombian hypo that is almost a solid red color. Wish I had pictures, but can't find them...

I am a morph guy, and I have always said... Be honest about what it is. As long as you do that, go for it.

There are lots of people that will refuse to breed two snakes simply because they didn't come from the same city block. There are others who will just throw any two snakes together to see what they get. I think a middle ground is probably the best position, but either way... be honest about what it is.
