BCI females tend to be VERY aggressive once they give birth. They do calm down though after a bit.
usually that is lol.
As for the "guarding" the babies thing.
BCI/BOAS could care less when it comes to such really. Allthough they do tend to make sure that they do not lie on the babies,..they do NOT gurard them however.
If I am not mistaken..About the only reptile that actually "guards" it's young to any extent is the crocodilian[s].
