Pos?
My male and my female have been together since Oct 22nd and now my female is in her blue phase but she doesnt look like she swallowed a "football" as some put it. I cant really tell....i havent messed with her so im not sure. If anything maybe a small meal look to her and i ran my hand down her side in that area two days ago when i first noticed her getting ready to shed and it almost felt like little little balls inside her...i felt them along her sides kinda. its hard to explain how it felt but not normal..never felt them before. Could she still be pregnant just not as bloated as others seem to show or what? what do you all think? At night the male still goes and hangs on her and all until about morning time. then he goes back by the heater and sleeps alone until the night again. Please help me all.

What snakes are you referring to? Because RTB's are live-bearing so you wouldnt be feeling for an "egg".

Did you actually see copulation? In my experience with emeralds, they are not shy about it. More than likely if you never saw any it probably isn't happening. I have also noticed that once mating has ceased, the female shuns the male. Not sure about RTBs.

i have seen them locked up numerous times. she doesnt turn him down or away. its like he gets shy...he wants his privacy. when i turn all the lights out...they get together...when you turn lights on or if theres much activity by there cage he will get off her.

Our practice, with emeralds, is to keep them together until all evidence of mating has ceased. We do separate them for feedings and digestion (emerald metabolism is really slow, so they get 5 days for digestion) and then re-introduce the male. Mating usually lasts from late Oct. to mid-late Feb. Again, this is for emeralds.
