just making sure.... I have a male culombian red tail boa, still young but getting bigger by the day... I'd like to breed him down the line as he's a beauty both in temperment and looks. (when he's old enough) so I am looking at females... would he be compatable with a Suri female? I always assumed it'd be fine but am not that sure any more... I learned not to assume anything
Also, are 100% for het Suri females very hard to find? just a thought I had, it'd be nice although it doesn't matter too much to me.

Also, I'm not in this for the money at all, if I do have babies I'll keep 2 of my fav's and will be happy to give the rest away to RTB members providing they pay shipping. (maybe do a raffle thingie for rtb? I remember someone did that once...)
Again, It's not something I'll be doing this year as my boa's way too young, just thinking down the line and rambeling as it's 4:13 a.m and I'm up with a killer tooth ache
Also, Last thought...
Would ANYONE like to trade a female rtb/suri for a beautiful healthy BP? not sure about sex as I've never had her probed and can't do it myself but "she's" very pretty, a good eater, about 3' allthough still youngish (a year old)
Only problem is wife won't let me get more snakes so if I get a female someone has too go... this one is the first one I got and although I love "her", she doesn't fit into any of my plans...

Alright, my .02. Personally I don't like BCC/BCI mixing. To me it's kinda like breeding a show dog with a normal household dog. I don't know, I just think BCC should be BCC. Suri isn't a morph, so there arent any hets, when you breed BCI with BCC you usually get kinda a really good looking BCI, or a really dull looking BCC depending on how you look at it.
It's great your not doing it for the $$! that's very respectable! right on!
OK, the worst vise is advice, but mine would be to find a really good looking BCI for your fellah. -Juggalo

Thanks Juggalo, I'll think about that... feel kinda stupis about the Suri het thing, I should have known that. Other than the reason above (which is a good one) are they ( bci & bcc) compatible? thanks!

Yes, they are compatible, and they'll have baby snakes just like normal. I'm not sure if breeding BCI to BCC is any different than breeding normally, I wouldn't think so. but not sure. -Juggalo

I have to agree with Jugg, crossing BCI/BCC's isn't really a good idea. Although I wouldn't go as far to compare a BCC with a BCI as a Show Dog and a Normal Household Dog, BCC or BCI, they are all beautiful, in fact one of our BCI's puts a lot of BCC's I've seen to shame in the looks department, but I digress.
Sounds like a good plan, the raffle I mean. It went down quite well last time, if I remember correctly

I know what you mean Dragon (about the dogs), when I was writing that I was thinking about how bad of a comparison it was but I couldn't think of anything else off the top of my head. I actully have 2 BEAUTIFULL BCI that I think are much prettier, and paid more for, than I would for most BCC, so I totally agree, it wasn't a good comparison at all. -Juggalo
