I'm looking to start breeding some kind of boid. I had considered breeding burmese since they seem moderately inexpensive and a lot of people seem to have success with them. However, several people pointed out, quite reasonably, that there are far too many burmese on the market already. Therefore, I'm looking to other breeds. I'd prefer to work with something that is relatively uncommon in captivity so that I'm also helping with conservation efforts in the process of breeding. I'd prefer the snakes be less that 2000/pr. Does anyone have any suggestions?

what about the Malagasy Ground Boa Acrantophis madagascarensis? They tend to run around $1500-2000 a pair.
What ever you decide to breed, make sure that you learn as much as possible about them before you get your first one. In the end you will save yourself a lot of trouble and your snakes will thank you for making them comfortable and happy.
