incubating eggs

when breeding gecko eggs does anyone ever put them right on the screen/mesh or do you always put them in a vermiculite substance?

As far as I know you should put them in the vermiculite. I dont think I have ever seen them on the screen and I have seen alot of eggs in incubaters.

I am trying this year with screen for incubating eggs.

primarily because no matter how I have set them up in the past, this one particular species , none of the eggs on the bottom in the vermiculite would hatch.
They would go full term, and die in the egg.

its really one of those things that you just have to experiment with and find what works best for you.
