Jungle Breeding?

I was wondering if a male and female will battle? Wrap around each other and fly apart. I put what was supposed to be a male and female together and they battled so bad I had to put the male in a pillow case in the cage. Then in the morning I let him out and they were settled and locked together. So is it normal for a male and female to battle?

i believe they can be rough sometimes even cause injuries
