I now this may be a stupid question but how small are rtb's when first born?

I'd say anywhere between 15 and 22 inches. Average is about 17-18" at birth.

If you're asking this to determine age of your boa, don't bother. If fed on properly sized rats, a new born will grow much faster then you'd expect. On the flip side, a boa fed mice will grow very slow. I just saw a thread the other day where a yearling was only 18'' or so. My colombians are about 15 months old. Female is 4.7' and the male is right about 4'. Soooo, don't think for a second that size has any bearing on age. =Þ

no its just that i havent the abilaty to imagen a snack pregnant with 60 babies I know that its right but i just cant imagine it so i was asking so i could ...........kinda get a better idea

this is a newborn baby a few hours after being born:

She also had one egg that split into twins, so two little runts were born.. saddly they both didn't make it..

was probably 8" or so.
Some are born with the yolks still attached, some are born still inside the birth membrane. It's no fun to mess with a new mother snake! woah!
hope those pics help give you an idea...
here is the first look I had of the litter.. half the litter was born under the newspaper so you can't even see them all! She had 34 live, mom is 7.5'

hahaha!! If you had seen how ANGRY mom was when she realized I was there you wouldn't want to get into the viv! lol I have never been scared of this boa before until then! She is pretty smart too (for a snake)... A new
mom is very protective! My dad didn't believe me, that Autumn, the big mellow girl herself, turned into such a crazy monster. hehe

I can't wait to be a snake grandparent again hopefully in '06.

not from autumn tho, that was probably her one and only litter, I don't have
any plans for her to be a mom again, she's back to being just a big ol sweetie pie. (thank goodness)

Besides the angry mom...you won't want in the cage with them when you get a good whiff of that funky birth smell ESPECIALLY if they have been in there a few hours before you found them.

lol that is very true. I was gagging trying to clean out the cage, but the whole experience is so worth it. (it is pretty nasty.. hmm maybe I could change a diaper afterall hahahaah)
