Well i know it's done often. I'm sure it happens in nature. I would try to avoid it though. Just like why humans shouldnt mate with siblings. i don't hink inbreeding in any species is a good thing. If i try to breed something I try to get different blood lines.

It can be done. I know of people who have done it up to five times without noticable side effects. Even at that most of them don't recommend it. I personally don't agree with breeding a male back to his mother either. I know I'm gonna get alot of flack for saying that but it's just my opinnion. The down side is that there can be defects related to inbreeding. Alot of them have risen from over breeding (inbreeding) albino boas Just my opinnion on the matter. Inbreeding yes possibly can cause albinos. Don't get all excited that it will happen. Most of the effect will be health related, not morph related. I agree bad I wouldn't breed a male back to his mother or female back to the father.

I would like to say that this is the strangest serious post I have seen yet Yeah, I don't breed em, but I would avoid it if possible on general principle, and definitely not offspring to parents - offspring to offspring would be the worst I'd do.

Ed sorry didn't mean breeding them together made albinos. What I meant was that there is a problem with some people inbreeding albinos to the point of causing health problems, deformities and the like. Sorry for the confusion. Remember it may take longer to produce the desired morph but it's still better to diversify the blood lines.

The reasons people inbreed is due to basic genteic concepts. Two siblings are colsely related and are more likely to be heterozygous for a particular trait. If bred together you increase the probability of said trait. That can be anything from the mundane to the malignant. Hence if two offspring from one pairing where an individual was homozygous for a trait, than the siblings , if bred together , are more likely to produce that desired trait. If one isn't heterozygous for the trait however, than the trait isn't passed on.

Thank you all for your input. The reason I ask this question was to decide whether or not to buy another baby from the same litter. Will have more questions shortly..
