gravid atb gestation question

i have a gravid amazon treeboa which had post ovulate shed on nov 18 and did her pre-partuate shed on may 9. she`s LATE this is day 203 since post ov shed and 31 days since pre-part shed . ovulation and first mating occured oct 23. thats over 225 days of gestation. my question is has anyone who knows these snakes ever experienced this long of time since pre-partuate shed -- 31 days ago -- wow, she just doesn`t want to give them up. she`s almost as big as a soda can and still feeding on pink rats. yesterday she took 5. in all my experience and all i`ve read, usually 5 to 15 days after pre-part shed, she drops. anyone else ever had one go this long ??? cleave

Are you sure she is gravid? Did she lose color and darken? How big is she? Pink rats? Don't let the skinny neck fool ya...If she is large enough to breed...she is large enough for larger prey than pink rats but at least for the last month that she is gravid she should fast or only be offered a very small meal. Never feed them more than 2 of anything. If they need more, then give them bigger. People tend to breed ATB's too early. They really should wait till they are in the 6 foot range and thick as a half dollar. Gestation is long and some do fast for all or most of it so young breeders can die from not having enough weight.
