We had a power outage a week and a half- 2 weeks ago while I was at work for 8 hours, and well....looks like all my Savu eggs Suffered greatly. I had 5 of em and its not looking so good. Im pretty bummed....but Im pretty sure they are all dead....They are starting to sink and turn yellow already....wow that was fast...
Ball eggs are still looking good and burm eggs already hatched so hopefully it wasnt a total loss...
Sorry for my ranting.... but ive always heard how hard savu's are to breed and actually get to produce, and this being my first year with them (thay were proven by their previous owner, so yes, I had it easy) I was extra excited!!
O'Well.......

That would be very frustrating.
Hopefully you will have better luck next time around! Good to hear about the burms and good luck with the Ball eggs. Let us know how they turn out!

call me wierd but that is why I use a powerbackup system. The same kind used for computers I have an APC hooked up to my incubator and it gived me about 10 hours of runtime if there is ever a power loss. They are sort of cheap the one I use is about 300 but man are they worth it.

I actually have a generator, but I was at work and did not know about the outage. I work 12 hor shifts, and according to the clock, it was out 8 hours. But I guess a generator doesnt help if your not there to start it. I wish I could afford somthing that would run automaticly...but if my ball eggs hatch, I hopefully will be able to afford it!!!
Thanks for the support guys.

Im with radkon, I use a APC powercell on my incubator,
I feel for you on the savu eggs, I lost a clutch of macklot eggs at the very end of incubation due to a thermostat failure.
very sad, they were all fully formed.
How far along where they?
