Hello

I have been planning for the future and I have come up with a plan that I some day may want to persue. I was considering purchasing a 1.1 pair of 100% het for albino ball pythons from either Ralph Davis or Bob Clark. If I bred them and they produced a few albinos for me, I am under the impression that inbreeding those albinos back to their parents or their sibilings may produce deformaties. If I could sell the first offspring and then buy a seperate female for a fresh gene pool to use, will this solve the problems of inbreeding? Or are their any other suggestions to solve this? Also, how do the chip implants that Bob Clark offers work? Thanks!

Hi, I can tell you about the chip. It is a small micro chip that is injected under the skin. Each chip is asigned a differend identity #. You have to run a scanner over the body of the animal and it will pull up the microchip # so you can then track who it then belongs to through the supplier of the chip. Also if you lost your pet, you can call the supplier and have the chip # put on the hot list, which is the list they check first if a # is reported found. There are a few different brands such as A.V.I.D. and Homeagain. Animal control officers, the humane society and the person implanting the chip have scanners so the chips can easily and readily be scanned.
